Contribution and CC0 Policy
Draft for legal review · Updated 14 October 2026
Public-domain dedication
When submitting a community-authored record for publication, contributors dedicate their eligible original contribution under Creative Commons CC0 1.0 to the extent permitted by law.
Irreversible intent
CC0 is intended to allow anyone to copy, modify, distribute and use the material, including commercially and for AI systems, without an attribution requirement. The dedication cannot practically be withdrawn after redistribution.
Contributor recognition
The website and embeds display contributor history as a community practice. This does not create a downstream attribution condition.
Imported open data
Imported records are not relicensed as CC0. They retain the compatible source licence and include source identity, version, retrieval date, checksum, provenance and any required attribution. Restricted or unknown licences are not eligible for import.
External material
Do not upload material you do not own or have permission to dedicate. External embeds and restricted media remain under their original terms and are excluded from dataset binaries.
Review
Editors may request sources, clarification, corrections or proof of permission before publication.
